I am a story teller. I invite you to come and visit and share the stories of these unsung hero’s, and people who have defied the odds, or exhibited amazing strength in the eye of the storm. In 2003 I started my first business. I sold that in 2014 and in 2016 I started working on another company called Jet 5 Studios based out of Kansas City, Missouri. I enjoy telling the untold stories, because I not only believe that everyone has a story, but also that the world is full of normal, everyday people who are doing amazing things. I believe that we grain strength when we see strength in action. I tell these stories through video, photography, and writing. I have found in my own personal experience when I decided to own my life, scars and all that I was better able to be open to the things I should be expending my energy on and that was making a mark in this life. It was not to create an acceptable persona for the world to see. We all know that life is a work in progress so this did not happen until about fifteen years into my own journey when, while traveling with my husband I started listening to people instead of talking so much. I heard so many people who felt just like I did…no matter what their circumstances were. They felt judged, and less than enough. I talked to mothers, women who have never been married, women who, like me wanted, but never had children, men who work hard, people who struggle with addictions, people who have overcome so much, and defied the odds, people who serve with all of their heart and people who have been changed by that service. Through my empathy and strong encouragement I realized that I needed to take my own advice. Not one of us has it all together. I decided I could continue to try to hide my scars, and be perfect for myself and all those who saw me, or I could continue to strive to be better while accepting myself, quirks and all and start listening, and learning about others while spreading as much light, and love as possible. My first book “L is for loser, battling through infertility.” is coming out March 2018. I am so thankful for all those who shared their stories for this project. It follows several women’s stories, each with a different ending. However you will see that the light can shine in our lives even if the ending is different than we planned. No matter what our circumstances, disabilities, or beliefs may be, we are all unique and we were all created to be AMAZING!!
